Tim dekay matt bomer kiss12/9/2023 THR: Was there something that you discovered during that experience?īomer: I knew I was going to love it from a collaborative standpoint. Some things I don’t really see until it airs. I’m either in the trailer or the scene itself so I did it a lot. There was a joy for me as a director to watch Matt on the monitor work with other actors in a scene because I don’t get to do that. But we do bounce things off of each other. When Matt and I work together we don’t direct each other necessarily. It was such a perfect episode for him to direct.ĭeKay: It takes place in Yankee Stadium for baseball. It made me want to do great work for him. He did justan amazing job wearing both hats, and it was such a natural fit. While he’s still the work he always does, he’s also paying attention to things visually. I knew he was going to be great because I watched him over the past year and a half. THR: What was Tim like as a director? (DeKay directed an upcoming baseball episode, airing February, which THR broke in August.)īomer: Everything I hoped for. PHOTOS: Midseason TV Preview: 17 New Shows Premiering in 2012 I remember the director called me the night before and he was like, “Can you memorize a full Byron poem by tomorrow morning, in verse.” Considering his background, the fact that he never had a formal education, to get to go undercover and enjoy the vicarious aspect of it. Matt Bomer: For me it’s always fun when Neal gets to go undercover. I like it when Neal does something and it pisses Peter off but he can’t do anything about it. I love that part of White Collar a lot because it’s fun, it’s light, there’s a lot of heart in those episodes. Tim DeKay: That’s one of those episodes that didn’t have much anthology to it. The Hollywood Reporter: In an upcoming episode, “Upper West Side Story,” Neal pretends to be a teacher and at the climactic moment, there’s a funny scene with a fake gun. I've had some experience.PHOTOS: 10 Broadcast and Cable TV Show Most Watched By Menīomer and DeKay gave THR a preview of the first episodes back, what DeKay really is like as a director and whether Bomer will step behind the camera - or write - any time soon. "I directed quite a bit of theater and filmed some shorts. "I've just always wanted to and it just presented itself with schedules and what have you," DeKay said. Hanky-panky aside, the cast dished that DeKay is set to take his first turn behind the show's cameras and direct an upcoming episode of the hit USA Network series in August. "I do just have to point out that Neal is not the only con man who gets laid this season," joked Willie Garson, who plays Bomer's con-man confidante Mozzie. The intimacy is sort of easy and fast because ultimately the stakes are really high and you gotta get in and get laid while you can and get out."īut Bomer isn't the only White Collar star getting action on the show. "One of the things about the con artist lifestyle is that all the romance is sort of sloppy and fast and loose. "Neal is just a man ho who's scared of real intimacy and wants to live on the edge," Bomer said of his character's love life. " incredibly tense scene between Peter and Neal, and then he walks out in the hallway and he makes out!" joked DeKay. "There's an interrogation scene and at the end of it, Eliza's character gives Neal a pretty nice embraced kiss in front of Peter in the interrogation room," Bomer, who plays con artist Neal Caffrey, dished last night at a private White Collar screening and Q&A at the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences in L.A. Not only does she get to act alongside White Collar hottie Matt Bomer during her upcoming stint on the series' third season, Dushku gets herself some seriously steamy screen time with the show's supersexy star. Eliza Dushku is one very-and we mean very!-lucky lady.
